Head to Haggard Park on the last Saturday of the month, June through August, to watch some of this year’s most loved family-friendly blockbusters.
Movies in the Park is free to the public. The season will begin with Rogue One: A Star Wars Story on Saturday, June 24 at 8 p.m., followed by a showing of Moana on July 29 and The Lego Batman Movie on August 26.
Each event will have a fun twist or activity before the movie starts. Check out the details below for each film:
- Rogue One: Attendees and their dogs are encouraged to dress up and take part in Star Wars-themed costume contests at 6:30 pm. There will also be a Jedi Training class hosted by Roser Martial Arts Center at 7 pm.
- Moana: Henna artist Tejal Parikh will have a station set up for movie-goers to get henna tattoos, starting at 6:30 pm. There will also be a hula-dancing class hosted by TOLOA Polynesian Dance at 7 pm.
The LEGO Batman Movie: Attendees are encouraged to participate in a LEGO contest! For the contest, we are asking attendees to build their best Batmobile out of LEGOs and bring it ALREADY BUILT to the movie. The contest will take place at 6:30 pm. All of the Batmobiles will be put on display- the most creative will win a prize! The Plano PD Crime Prevention unit will also be in attendance. They will have a booth set up and their squad car on display.
In addition to the film screenings, food trucks will be on site to sell refreshments.
